Isometric Infographic
I got the chance to work on my first isometric illustration for an infographic poster that explains the process of making an omelette. The design brief I was given required that the process be explained without any text. It was an exercise in both a new technique, as well as a challenge to convey information without words.
This project helped me learn how to produce isometric imagery while also taking into consideration that a project may need to be understood by clients across the world, and I may not be able to use written copy in a design. I learned how to effectively convey information using only imagery and color and found it a tough but rewarding exercise.
Despite including “How to Make an Omelette” in the first panel, the title was not meant to be the focal point, but to support the design as a secondary feature that I incorporated into this imaginary kitchen in the form of a specials-of-the-day menu board. I felt it looked more natural and seamless included in the visuals rather than as text sitting on top as a separate element from the illustrations.

Data Selfie Infographic
This poster was made from a series of infographics I created about my personality as an exercise in conveying lots of information through both traditional and novel forms of information design.
I incorporated pie charts, donut charts, customized heat map charts and more in Indesign. I brainstormed data concepts, gathered my data, recorded the data, inserted it into the program, then designed the colors and visuals of each graph around their respective information.
This project was instrumental in helping me learn more about effective information design and the importance of color, organization, data collection, and layout in conveying information to an audience. It also taught me a few interesting things about myself! (see: my love for grunge and noise music)
